GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Tuesday mourned the demise of Madhya Pradesh Governor Lalji Tandon.
Expressing his grief through a statement, Chief Minister Sonowal said that the immense contribution made by Lalji Tandon to the social and political life of the country would always remain a source of inspiration for years to come. According to a release, he said that with the passing away of the stalwart, India lost a great parliamentarian and statesman who always devoted his life to serve the society. His contribution towards shaping Bharatiya Janata Party and its ideology would also be remembered for posterity, Sonowal said.
Industries and Commerce Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary also condoled the demise of Lalji Tandon. In a condolence message, the Minister stated, 'Lalji Tandon was an exemplary administrator. As a statesman, he always emphasized on upholding the democratic values of our Constitution. He was revered by all for his immense contribution towards the society. His demise is an irreparable loss.'
