GUWAHATI: As a part of State government's multi-pronged approach to negotiate with the COVID-19 pandemic, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday dialled several eminent personalities, sports organizers, social activists and journalists and talked to them. During the telephonic discussion, Chief Minister Sonowal apprised them of the State government's ploy to beat the viral infection.
Sonowal told them besides protecting and saving precious lives from COVID 19, State government is working wholeheartedly to create a robust infrastructure of health care facilities to reach out to the people who are falling prey to the deadly novel coronavirus. He also said that the government is also working assiduously to strengthen the economy which has been badly hit by the pandemic.
Chief Minister Sonowal while talking to them took stock of their health status and requested them to lead a life lifting their morale high so as to transfer enthusiasm and positivity among different sections of the people.
Sonowal dialled former principal of B. Borooah College Ambikagiri Roy Chowdhury's grandson Jagadindra Roy Chowdhury, former head of Assamese Department Pandu College Bhabani Prasad Upadhaya, former MP Dr. Arun Sharma, former secretary Guwahati Press Club Naba Thakuria, senior journalist Rupam Baruah, former ambassador to North Korea Binanda Kumar Gogoi, veteran businessman Krishna Kumar Goenka, sports organiser Manoj Mohanty, social activist Gauranga Roy, Dilip Basu and Swapnanil Madhukar.
