Coal consignments for Bihar sold in Haryana; one arrested by Assam Police

GUWAHATI: Basistha Police brought on remand the main accused in a coal deal case to Guwahati from Mankan Nagar in Haryana on Wednesday.

The main accused behind the crime, Sandeep – son of Padam Singh of Mankan Nagar, 1360, Shiv Colony, Rohtak in Haryana was traced and arrested by the Assam Police team from Indra Colony, Rohtak, in Haryana. The arrested accused has been brought to Assam for further legal action.

The Police two also seized the two vehicles bearing registration numbers RJ32GB6889 and HR63C4909. The arrested Accused and also the two trucks were recovered from Haryana.

The Police action was taken after an FIR (First Information Report) was filed by Shiv Kumar on behalf of Gohona Assam Road Carriers, Golapi Market, Lalmati here on April 8, 2021.

According to the FIR filed at Basistha Police Station, two trucks (running under the complainant's company) loaded with coal, which were supposed to go to Bihar hadn't reached their destination. A case 657/21 u/s 408 IPC was registered.

During investigation, it was found that one of the partners of the complainant had hatched a plan and diverted those trucks to Rohtak in Haryana instead of Bihar; It was revealed that the accused person also sold the loaded coal.
