Complete HS First-year admission by September 12: AHSEC to institutions

GUWAHATI: The AHSEC (Assam Higher Secondary Education Council) has directed all the registered institutions in the Council portal — Darpan — to complete the admission process of the First Year HS (Higher Secondary) courses within September 12.

The notification issued by the AHSEC Secretary added, "... This is to inform all institutions which are registered under 'DARPAN' that the following dates/instructions are to be followed by the institutions as well as the students for completion of the admission process.

"The 'Selection' and also the 'Waiting' Lists for admission into HS first year will be prepared by the institutions concerned within September 5, 2021. Subsequent to the preparation of the 'Selection List' and also the 'Waiting List' by the institutions, the AHSEC will make available both the lists through the portal (www.darpan.ahseconline.in) for the students on September 6, 2021."

The Council notification adds, "Further, candidates will receive a notification of their selection through SMS. After the publication of the 'Selection List', the candidates will be allowed to select only one institution for admission using their Login ID in the portal till 11 pm on September 7, 2021.

"After approval/selection, a candidate will not be allowed to change the institution. The candidate will have to take admission in the institution concerned within the stipulated time period to complete the admission process from September 8 to 12, 2021). The notification also says, "Institutions will have to facilitate students on their request, who have not been able to select institution through their login ID in the portal.

"The admission process should be completed by the institutions within September 8 to 12, 2021. All the institutions will have to accept the admission in the portal using Institution Login ID on a daily basis during the admission process."

The notification further says, "The candidates will be able to change their preferred subject(s) at the time of admission and the institution concerned will have to update the same in the portal on the day of admission.

"Institutions are to publish vacancy position immediately after completion of the admission process to facilitate those students who have not got admission in the institution opted for admission.

"Institution shall not involve in approval/selection of institution for the student concerned without his/her consent. This is kind of act shall be considered an offence.

"Institutions shall not allow enrolling their students through other institutions and any involvement of this nature shall be viewed very seriously as per rule.

'DARPAN' admission portal may be reopened to facilitate the admission process for left out candidates if required."
