Congress general secretary Mukul Wasnik flays Centre over privatization moves

AICC (All India Congress Committee) general secretary and former Union Minister Mukul Wasnik has flayed the Centre over its latest privatization moves.

GUWAHATI: AICC (All India Congress Committee) general secretary and former Union Minister Mukul Wasnik has flayed the Centre over its latest privatization moves.

Addressing the media here on Wednesday, Wasnik enumerated the list of such assets.

He concluded, "Two consequences will definitely follow: First, income from the government-owned public assets will not be available to the nation or its future generations for the long lease period of 30 to 50 years. Secondly, opportunities for India's poor, SC, ST, OBC in the shape of reservation in jobs or investments in underdeveloped areas will be finished.

The press meet was also attended by APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) president Bhupen Kumar Borah, working president Rana Goswami, Kamalakhsya Dey Purksyastha and MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed among others.
