GUWAHATI: The APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) has suffered another jolt as former Minister and former Majuli MLA Rajib Lochan Pegu resigned from the post of Majuli District Congress president. He submitted his resignation to the APCC on Tuesday.

It is to be noted that during Tarun Gogoi's regime, Pegu was a Cabinet Minister. In the Assembly Polls 2016, he lost the Majuli seat to BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) candidate Sarbananda Sonowal. In the recently held polls, Pegu was again defeated by Sonowal in Majuli.

Talking to the media, Pegu said that he will continue to work as a member of Congress.
