GUWAHATI: A person named Montu Deka has been arrested by the Panbazar police on the charge that he committed cyber copyright violation by circulating Assamese books in PDF format via a website named www.digitaltinsukia.in.
Police sources said that the arrest has been made in connection with a case (166/2022 u/s 63 of the Copyright Act, 66 of IT Act) that was registered on the basis of an FIR lodged by the All Assam Publishers and Booksellers Association.
