Crane topples at Basistha, causes massive traffic jams

A crane used for heavy lifting toppled in the middle of the busy national Highway-27 at Basistha. The accident took place while it was engaged in the ongoing construction of the flyover at Basistha Junction.

GUWAHATI: A crane used for heavy lifting toppled in the middle of the busy national Highway-27 at Basistha. The accident took place while it was engaged in the ongoing construction of the flyover at Basistha Junction.

Two youths, a male and a female, suffered minor injuries in the accident. They were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for a medical checkup and were released soon afterwards. The crane, however, blocked the busy route, causing a massive traffic pileup that took hours to clear.
