'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' participants enroute to Rajghat in Delhi from Jorhat

GUWAHATI: Regarding the celebration of the 75th anniversary of India's Independence (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav), the Directorate General, CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) has intimated that a cycle rally is being organised from Jorhat to Rajghat in Delhi. In this regard, the North Eastern Sector of CRPF has been assigned the responsibility to conduct the cycle rally on Route 3 from Jorhat to Siliguri (West Bengal) via Group Centre, CRPF, Guwahati, stated a press release.

The cycle rally on Route-3 started from Jorhat on August 31, 2021. The rallyists are expected to reach Group Centre, CRPF in Guwahati at about 1300 hours on September 4, 2021, after covering a distance of 360 km.

The cyclists will further flag off/march off from Group Centre, CRPF, Guwahati for the Group Centre, CRPF, Siliguri (West Bengal) the next morning i.e., September 5, 2021, by Assam Minister of Sports, Bimal Bora. The rally will proceed to Siliguri from NH-37 via Kamrup, Rangia, Nalbari, Barpeta, Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar districts of Assam by covering a distance of 499 km.Mentionably, commemorating the 75th anniversary of India's Independence on August 15, 2021, the MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) celebrations started from March 12, 2021 which includes 15 cycle rallies across India.
