Dakshin Kamrup College takes pledge to support 5 villages

The Dakshin Kamrup College has taken the responsibility to protect/support five villages of the State to promote the lives of the villagers.

GUWAHATI: The Dakshin Kamrup College has taken the responsibility to protect/support five villages of the State to promote the lives of the villagers. The five villages are – Nahira, Dakhala, Xontala, Parakuchi and Monpur. Through Unnat Bharat Abhiyan and with cooperation of an NGO – Pohar Foundation, the college recently organized a gram sabha at a village. The college took stock of the wants and complaints of the villagers regarding education, health, transportation, agriculture, animal husbandry, handicraft, weaving etc in the first meeting held at Nahira under the programme.

The college authority also exchanged their views regarding various schemes of the Central and State governments. They also discussed the improvement of the upgradation of social, educational and economic front of the villagers. The meeting was attended by over 100 people from different villages where the college authority took a pledge to promote the living standard of the villagers, said a release.
