GUWAHATI: The task force, under the leadership of DC Pallav Gopal Jha, is working towards the complete relocation and rehabilitation of the destitute people of the city within the time frame of ten days. The task force constitutes officials from the judiciary, police, social welfare, and health departments, as well as representatives of the NGOs working in this direction.
The team conducted the necessary medical tests on selected people and later shifted them to the designated shelters in the city. The district administration has also requested the support of the people of the city in this regard. They mentioned that these people might not be dressed decently during the procedure and requested that they not take photos or videos of the same, as that might trigger them to act unexpectedly.
