DCP Pranjit Borah issued traffic advisory for March 18-19 in Guwahati

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Traffic Pranjit Borah has issued an advisory for the convenience of commuters during the filing of nomination by various candidates for the Assembly election in Kamrup (Metro) on March 18 and 19.

GUWAHATI: Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Traffic Pranjit Borah has issued an advisory for the convenience of commuters during the filing of nomination by various candidates for the Assembly election in Kamrup (Metro) on March 18 and 19.

The candidates will file their nomination papers at the Office of the Kamrup Metro Deputy Commissioner.

According to the advisory –

*The vehicles coming from Chandmari side towards Jalukbari are advised to move via GNB Road, District Library and RBI side towards Panbazar flyover and towards AT Road.

*The vehicles coming from Ulubari side towards Jalukbari can move via AT Road.

* Some vehicles coming from Paltan Bazar side towards Bharalumukh side can move via MLN road, Panbazar Police Point and HB Road.

*The vehicles coming from Jalukbari side towards Chandmari, Noonmati and Dispur side are advised to move via Apollo point and move towards Hb Road and onto AT Road.

*The vehicles coming from Uzan Bazar and Kharghuli towards Panbazar can move via Taibullah Road, GNB Road, RBI point towards AT Road or via MLN Road and HB Road towards Bharalumukh.

The following routes/points have been earmarked as 'No-parking zone' – HB Road, MLN Road, MG Road, B Barooah Road, MC Road, FC Road, and GNB Road.

The following GMC lessee parking will be 'No-parking zone' on March 18 and 19 — Parking in front of Police Reserve, Panbazar; Church Parking (near Khubchand point); Kamarpatty Masjib parking; BSNL parking; and Cotton Collegiate HS School parking.

The vehicles of supporters of candidates who come to file nomination can be parked at the following places – Lachit Ghat parking; on both side of the road from Kalipur to Bhootnath; TC point rotary (Kamrup Academy side); and Apollo point to Phulbagan BRP Road crossing (north side).

Additionally, DCP Borah has advised the people to approach and ask on duty police personnel for any assistance.

"Ambulances and other emergency services will be facilitated passage through shortest possible route," said the DCP while briefing the media.
