GUWAHATI: Raijor Dal members reacted to the Supreme Court's verdict for peasants' rights activist Akhil Gogoi, as the Court dismissed Gogoi bail on Thursday.

Addressing the media, the party members stated the "BJP is afraid of losing the forthcoming election if they release Akhil Gogoi. It is a joint conspiracy of the BJP and the RSS to keep Akhil Gogoi behind bars."

"The government is doing anti-people works which include the opening of toll gates in Assam, privatization of Airport Authority of India to oilfields as well as completion of Lower Subabsiri Hydro Electric Project," he added.

The party further said that they were not surprised by the rejection of Gogoi's bail plea.

Moreover, they said the party will take revenge in the forthcoming Assembly polls. "Akhil Gogoi will contest from Sivasagar," the party member said.
