Dimoria bodies oppose Assam State Capital Region Development Authority Act

GUWAHATI: Outraged over The Assam State Capital Region Development Authority (ASCRDA) Act 2017, various organizations in Dimoria have decided to oppose it by blocking the National Highway on November 4.

In this regard, a public meeting was held at Dimoria District Tribal Sangha Conference Hall on Monday where leaders of over 10 organizations were present. The organizations have also declared Dimoriabandh on November 10 to oppose the capital expansion project.

On October 19, the State government issued a gazette that certain areas of five districts will be included under the ASCRDA. The five districts are Kamrup Metro, Kamrup Rural, Nalbari, Darrang, and Morigaon.
