GUWAHATI: Director General CRPF Dr. Sujoy Lal Thaosen, IPS, visited Guwahati, Assam, as part of his official tour on September 22 and 23. During the visit, DG CRPF called on the Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma. He apprised the CM about the role being played by the CRPF in bringing peace to this region. He also told the Chief Minister about future plans, like the establishment of bases for special forces like the RAF. He thanked the Chief Minister for the help extended to the CRPF in terms of land, infrastructure, and other support from the state. The CM appreciated the role played by the CRPF in the state and congratulated all the officers and men on his behalf.
During the period, he visited the Group Centre CRPF, addressed and felicitated the veterans, and Veer Naris and interacted with them. He also visited 128 BN of the CRPF and exhorted the troops to work hard to maintain the desired peace in the North East. DG CRPF asked the men to maintain cordial relationships with other organisations and the general public. DG interacted personally with the troops to understand their problems and further directed them to concerned officials for solutions.
He also met the Chief Secretary of Assam and the DGP of Assam and discussed various internal security issues with them. During his visit, Binod Kumar Singh, IPS, ADG CRPF NE Zone, and Anurag Agarwal, IPS, IG CRPF NE Sector, also accompanied him, stated a press release.
