GUWAHATI: A meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) was organized in the office of the District Commissioner of Kamrup Metropolitan District in Guwahati.

Guwahati Member of Parliament Queen Oja chaired the meeting organized in the auditorium of the District Commissioner's office. The progress of multiple projects by several departments was discussed in the meeting. The level of work done based on the previous decisions taken by DISHA was also discussed in the meeting, along with the sharing of suggestions for the timely competition of key projects.

The experts noted that due to the lack of AADHAR cards among many people in the region, they have been unable to access the benefits of multiple schemes of the state and the central government. In order to mitigate this problem, an order was issued to the authorities concerned to conduct special AADHAR enrollment camps and ensure that everyone can have access to them.

The MP also observed that the number of children coming to the Anganwadi centres has also decreased. She ordered the officials from the Social Welfare Department to conduct awareness campaigns along with the presidents of the village committees by approaching the individual families and encouraging them to send their children to these centres.

Representatives of the district administration and several departments of the state attended this meeting. Officials representing projects like MGNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (Rural), Jal Jeevan Mission, Mid Day Meal, Paddy Procurement, Khel Maharan, etc. were also present for the meeting.
