Dispur Press Club confers awards for the year 2021

The Dispur Press Club (DPC) on Sunday conferred awards in 19 categories for the year 2021.

GUWAHATI: The Dispur Press Club (DPC) on Sunday conferred awards in 19 categories for the year 2021. The awards were given away at a function held at the PWD conference hall, Dispur.

State Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, Chief Information Commissioner, Assam, AP Rout, Asom Sattra Mahasabha general secretary Kusum Kumar Mahanta, litterateur-journalist Baikuntho Nath Goswami, DPC president Naren Hazarika and other dignitaries were present at the function.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred on renowned journalist and litterateur Kanak Sen Deka. Due to poor health, Kanak Sen Deka could not attend the function and his award was handed over to him at his residence. The Editor Award was conferred on Dharjya Hazarika (Axomiya Pratidin); Photo Journalist Award on Reba Kumar Bora (Dainik Janambhumi); News Anchor Award on Manisha Barua (DY365); Sangbadik Sangothok Kalyan Award on Abhidwip Choudhury (News Live); and Sangbad Bandhob Award on Nabajit Patgiri (OSD to CM of Assam).

The Jeevan Sanjeevani Award was conferred on Dr Raktim Pratim Tamuli (GMC&H); Udyogi Bota on Sibsang Hatibaruah; Youth Politician Award on Jitu Borgohain (Asom Yuva Parishad); Jana Sewa Bota on Himangshu Das; Samaj Hitoyoshi Bota on Naba Kumar Deka (litterateur and social worker); Actress Award on Amrita Gogoi; Actor Award on Siddhartha Sarma; Yuba Bandhu Bota on Gokul Barman; Bravery Award on Dharma Kanta Gogoi; Manab Sewa Bota on small tea grower Krishna Sarma; and Yuba Samaj Karmi Award on journalist Lakhi Prasad Deka.

Addressing the gathering, State Agriculture Minister Atul Bora lauded Dipsur Press Club for honouring prominent personalities from various fields. "All the personalities have made their mark in their respective fields and truly deserve this honour," said Bora.
