District Legal Service Authority conducts awareness programme on child protection

An awareness programme was organized by the District Child Protection Unit and District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), Kamrup (M), in collaboration with Care u 365 NGO at Bonda Durga Mandir on July 28 with reference to Suroxito Xaishab Sunali Axom, a 90-day child protection awareness programme.

GUWAHATI: An awareness programme was organized by the District Child Protection Unit and District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), Kamrup (M), in collaboration with Care u 365 NGO at Bonda Durga Mandir on July 28 with reference to Suroxito Xaishab Sunali Axom, a 90-day child protection awareness programme.

The programme was led by Sujata Dutta, Secretary, DLSA, Kamrup (M). The programme was attended by Kishori Baruah, PO-cum-District Child Protection Officer, Ganaram Lalung, Gaon Burha, officials of the District Child Protection Unit, and Sushil Pourel from Care u 365 NGO. The event highlighted the collective commitment to safeguarding children.

Sujata Dutta emphasized the legal aspects of child protection, emphasizing DLSA's role in providing free legal aid services to children in need and highlighting the collective responsibility to protect every child's rights. Anamika Das conducted an informative session on adoption procedures, encouraging potential careers to provide a loving environment for vulnerable children.

The programme concluded with a vibrant prize distribution ceremony for winners of the fancy dress and dance competitions, showcasing the talents and potential of young participants. The Suroxito Xaishab Sunali Axom campaign at Bonda is a testament to the joint efforts of the District Child Protection Unit, District Legal Service Authority, Kamrup (M), and Care u 365 NGO in creating a safer environment for children.
