GUWAHATI: “Diwali revelers beware of kolgochh and chokori,” warns a doctor who treats burn injuries in a city hospital.
According to the doctor, kolgochh and chokori are the most dangerous firecrackers used during the Diwali. “Many people have the misconception that kolgochh and chokori always get burnt of totally and get vanished. Against this notion, there are many cases when kolgochh and chokori burst causing burn injuries to Diwali revelers. During Diwali, most of the cases of burn injuries are from kolgochh and chokori.”
The doctor said: “This is not all. The smoke that comes out from kolgochh and chokori is harmful for asthma patients and those who suffer from respiratory problems and pneumonia. The risk of lung infection is very high.”
