DPR preparations underway for Guwahati Ring Road Project

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Ring Road is a proposed project under the Bharatmala Project and the Details Project Report (DPR) preparation process is currently underway and a meeting regarding the same was conducted at the DC office on Thursday to discuss the details of the proposed highway connecting Baihata Chariali to Sonapur.

To be created under the supervision of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the project report of the proposed ring road expected to pass through Baihata Chariali, Kurua, Chandrapur, and Sonapur is currently being prepared.

DC( Kamrup Metropolitan) Pallav Gopal Jha chaired a meeting regarding the stretch of the ring road project coming under the district in the DC office today. The DC ordered the NHAI as well as the forest department to ensure that the proposed project does not interfere with the Amsing Reserve Forest. Topics related to land acquisition for the project were also discussed. According to the DPR, about 54 km of the road will pass through the distinct and joins the National Highway in Digaro under the Sonapur Revenue Circle.

District Development Commissioner Gauri Sankar Das, Circle Officers of Chandrapur and Sonapur along with important officials of several departments attended this meeting.
