GUWAHATI: Dr. Hema Hari Prasanna Pegu has been appointed as the new treasurer of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC). He is a senior spokesperson for the APCC and the General Secretary of the North East Congress Coordination Committee. He was appointed by APCC President Bhupen Borah.
Sarat Borkotoky was the treasurer of the APCC, and after his demise, his position was given to Dr. Hema Hari Prasanna Pegu on the recommendation of Jitendra Singh, general secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) and Assam in-charge. Bhupen Borah ceremonially appointed Pegu to this new position.
