Guwahati: In a rather shocking incident a staff of a Guwahati hotel was allegedly beaten up by around 6 men on the night of December 30, 2020 as the hotel was late by few minutes in serving the roll that those men had ordered.

The men barged into the kitchen of the hotel in an inebriated state when an argument took place over the delay in serving the roll after the men were requested to leave the kitchen by the chef as outsiders are not allowed in hotel or restaurant kitchens due to safety and hygiene issues.

The drunken men then started abusing the kitchen staff of the hotel and hit the him and when other staff members tried to intervene they too were beaten up by the drunken men.

The chef got at least 10 stitches on his head as he sustained severe injuries.

The chef said," When the 6 men who had walked out of a bar entered to the kitchen, I requested them to leave the kitchen and get them their food within five minutes, after which an argument took place and they started beating me."

A case regarding the matter has been lodged at the Dispur Police station. And It's been three days now that the incident took place, but the police have not taken any action against the matter yet.

The hotel management and staff have alleged police inaction as even after three days no arrest has been made. The management and staff of the hotel staged a protest on Saturday outside the Dispur Police station requesting the police to take action against the culprits.
