GUWAHATI: The EXIT polls don't hold water. The reality will be reflected after the counting process of votes in the EVMs (Electronic Voting Maxchines) is completed. Let us wait for the process to start on May 2. This has been stated by several leaders of the Congress here on Saturday.
Talking to the media, APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) in-charge Jitendra Singh said, "The 'Mahajoot' will get absolute majority. Our target was 100 plus seats; and our number of seats will be very close to our target."
Deriding the EXIT polls, APCC general secretary Apurba Kumar Bhattacharya also made a similar comment, "All EXIT polls are motivated and not based on reality. The EXIT polls have been made at the diktats of the ruling party(ies). The agencies carrying out these EXIT poll are trying to put mental pressure on the officials and personnel who would be involved in the vote-counting process. The EXIT polls will be proved wrong in Assam. Earlier also such EXIT polls truned out to be wrong in Bihar and also in Chattisgarh."
