Family Welfare Minister Pijush Hazarika monitors lockdown violations

GUWAHATI: The Minister of State Health & Family Welfare Pijush Hazarika visited the major market places in the city on Tuesday and warned the shopkeepers of shutting down their business establishments if they are found violating the lockdown norms.

It was the second day after relaxation of total lockdown in the city on Tuesday where people were seen rushing into the grocery shops leading to massive gathering. As the situation worsened Minister Hazarika went to market areas including the Fancy Bazar to monitor whether the shop owners including the public are concerned about the lockdown norms.

He strictly warned the shop owners to maintain social distancing norms and said them that if they found violating the lockdown norms their business establishments may got sealed or he might file case against those owners.

Hazarika said that Fancy Bazaar is not above the law; there will be strict action against the owners. Besides urging the police administration to act in a stricter manner he told the shop owners that he will keep vigil again in the area and if they are found flouting the social distancing norms then cases will be filed against them.
