GUWAHATI: Bhavna Priya Kalita graduated with a degree in Civil engineering from R.V College of Engineering in the year 2016.

Her childhood dream of becoming a fashion designer and her undying love for fashion always kept her hooked in this field. As an Engineering Student, she managed to participate in various national and zonal fashion shows across Southern India, representing her university.

An urge to do something in the field of fashion made her work on her own Handloom-Based label SHREE, an MSME registered weaving unit in Mathgharia, Guwahati while she was still in her 8th semester. It has been more than two years since Shree is operating and taking orders both offline and online. Shree works on various unique colour combinations and motifs to make Assamese traditional Mekhela Sador look royal and in trend with the latest fashion.

Her debut show with East India Fashion Week in 2018 got a huge response and Bhavna put her best foot forward with Titli, a fashion show on exclusive and exquisite handloom products of Assam on 23rd February at Kohua bon Resort, Zoo Narengi Road. 22 female models and showstopper Dipannita Sharma, a supermodel turned Bollywood Actor from Mumbai displayed the Spring/Summer Collection by Shree in front of an august gathering of more than 200 people. The show took place during daylight as the collection was prepared in pastel color using eri, muga and mulberry silk.
