Flying of drones banned in Kamrup in view of PM's visit to state

GUWAHATI: The authorities of the Kamrup District of Assam have imposed a ban on the flying of any unmanned aerial vehicles in the skies about the region in view of the Prime Minister's visit to the state.

As per the schedule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be flying to IIT Guwahati from the LGBI Airport on his way to the venue of the inauguration of the AIIMS. Several other important officials and ministers will also be present for the event.

Keeping the security and privacy factor in mind, the district authorities have decided to impose a complete ban on drones in order to avoid any kind of untoward events. The decentralized airspace access will be regulated as per the security arrangement of the guests on the day of the proposed visit.

"Movement of all kind of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) / drones in the skies within the jurisdiction of Kamrup district on the 14.04.2023 is prohibited" mentioned a statement from Keerthi Jalli, DC Kamrup.
