GUWAHATI: Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi wrote a letter to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to arrange trains for the people of Assam who are straded in other parts of the country.

Gogoi also seeks to find the formal information about the death of Ajit Saikia, a resident of Bokakhat, who was undergoing treatment for COVID-19 in Delhi. "Almost thousand of trains have been running but unfortunately in case of Assam as per as I know not more than two trains are running," said Gogoi.

"Hope the State government will take immediate steps to implement the emphasis of extending helping hand to the distress people following the spirit of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika song – "Manuhe manuhor babe jodihe okonu nebhabe" `in letter and spirit so that it will not remain as lips sympathy," stated Gogoi in the letter.
