GUWAHATI: All Assam Government NPS Employees' Association (AAGNPSEA) president Achyutananda Hazarika said that the association would start agitation afresh as the State Government did not call them for discussion on their demands by November 30, 2022.

The association took out their 'Dispur Challo' agitation on November 8, 2022, in support of their demand for revocation of the NPS (National Pension Scheme) through the reintroduction of the old pension scheme (OPS). Hazarika said that the government gave a positive note for talks on the issue, and the association set a deadline of November 30. "However, the government has not contacted us by November 30, 2022. Now we will talk to intellectuals for suggestions and resort to a long-term agitation in December or January," he said.
