The Ganatantrik Sanghati, Asom (GSA) appealed to the NRC authority to stop harassing the people and to act in a humanitarian way without pushing them into a distressed situation.

In the presence of the conveners Harakumar Goswami, Dinesh Baishya, Loknath Goswami, Ankur Tamuly Phukan and Puja Nirala , the body made their statement that they are always with the distressed and panicked public, who are suffering from uncertainty. The body claimed NRC procedure to be weapon to harass the minority class. By mentioning the procedure to be a farce the body requested the NRC authority to show the minimum affability. The body stated that it is really inhuman business to ask the public to appear for re-verification at places more than three hundred Kilometers from their native places that too within a short notice. The body further mentioned that after being verified as illegal immigrant they may take the necessary actions, but it is inhuman to treat the public in a monastic way before they are proved as illegal immigrant. The body requests the Authority to sanction travelling expenses at least to BPL members, as it is ruining the financially poor people.
