Gang of motorcycle thieves busted, 12 stolen bikes recovered by Khetri Police

Khetri Police have recovered 12 stolen bikes and arrested 12 bike lifters.

GUWAHATI: Khetri Police have recovered 12 stolen bikes and arrested 12 bike lifters. A team of East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) from Khetri PS recovered a stolen KTM Duke 250 motorcycle and apprehended three accused persons on August 26, 2021. Based on the confession of the three arrested accused, the police team recovered seven more bikes and arrested eight more accused persons on August 28.

Police authorities said that the police team further recovered four more bikes on Sunday. "The operation continued through the night and in the early morning hours of Monday, the team located and arrested the kingpin of the gang, Deep Saikia from 10th Mile Jorabat. In total, the Khetri Police team arrested 12 accused and recovered 12 bikes. These include 1 KTM Duke 250, 1 TVS Apache RTR, 7 Honda Dio Scooty (s), 2 TVS NTORQ Scooty(s). The mastermind, Deep Saikia is being further examined to unearth additional details about the network," said police sources.
