Gauhati University releases notification regarding starting of FYUGP admission

GUWAHATI: Gauhati University recently released a notification for admission to the Integrated Masters (FYUGP+5th Year) curriculum. According to the official notification, students who have completed the 12th grade must be admitted in the first year and may proceed to the fifth year to earn a master’s degree with exit options as per the NEP-2020 structure. According to reports, out of 48 departments, 22 will offer integrated course formats. On the other hand, the university will only give a maximum of 30 seats for each department due to limited seats.

Within the first week of July 2023, a notice about admissions with information on the requirements for admission, the selection process, the number of seats, etc., will be published in local publications and on the GU website. The admissions procedure will be handled by the current P.G. admissions committee. The notification further stated that the Academic Registrar, G.U., should be contacted with any questions regarding the syllabus or course format.

The GU websites, particularly the NEP portal at https://nep.gauhati.ac.in, will have all the information on the FYUGP course structure and syllabi available online. Students can provide feedback using the site to have their questions answered.

In accordance with NEP 2020, the regulations for the FYUGP at Gauhati University offer options for multiple entries and exits, such as a certificate, diploma, degree with or without a major, degree with or without honours, or degree with honours, and research at various levels in all affiliated colleges under Gauhati University, as well as on the Gauhati University campus.
