GMC announces disruption of water supply in Guwahati city

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation has announced that the water supply will continue to be disrupted on June 16 as well and is expected to be resumed on June 17.

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation has announced that the water supply will continue to be disrupted on June 16 as well and is expected to be resumed on June 17. It also mentioned that the necessary restoration work is being continued by the Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority. The Guwahati Municipal Corporation had earlier announced that the water supply would be disrupted in the city on June 12 and 13.

The reason for the same is mentioned to be the shifting of the existing 600 mm dia raw water pumping main from the intake point to the Panbazar Water Treatment Plant. The areas to be affected by this disruption include Panbazar, Fancy Bazar, Athgaon, A.T. Road, Chatribari, Paltanbazar, Rehabari, Kacharibasti, B. Barua Road, Ulubari, Gandhibasti, South-Sarania, Lachit Nagar, Bhangagarh, Rajgarh, and Pub-Sarania.
