GUWAHATI: Officials of the GMC (Guwahati Municipal Corporation) and Pollution Control Board, Assam (PCBA) conducted a joint inspection drive against the production, sales, stocking, distribution and use of single-use plastics at a godown at Lokhara here today. They seized around 700 sacs filled with single-use plastics from the godown.
According to sources, the godown is storing banned single-use plastics without a valid trade licence. The civic body has carried out inspections against single-use plastics since July 6, 2022, when the ban was imposed.
