GUWAHATI: The Task Force for the Guwahati Municipal Corporation visited several vegetable markets in Guwahati and took note of the prices of the vegetables in the retail markets. They also interacted with the customers and took stock of the different problems faced by the citizens. The local authority has also asked the retail sellers not to charge beyond Rs 5- Rs 10 per kilo on vegetables compared to the wholesale prices.
GMC has constituted four task forces to resolve the problems regarding the prices of food items. The officials also mentioned that strict action will be initiated against the vendors if any complaints are raised by the consumers.
