GUWAHATI: The State Government has taken a policy decision to post female and PwD (Persons with Disabilities) candidates for grades III and IV, who were selected for appointment recently, to their home districts to the extent possible, feasible, and practicable. The government has also decided to post the candidates of the Barak Valley districts in the valley to the extent possible and feasible.
The state-level recruitment commissions for class III posts selected 11,324 candidates, and the state-level recruitment commission for class IV posts selected 14,281 candidates for appointment. The government will distribute the appointment letters at a ceremony in Guwahati on May 11, in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
An office memorandum issued today by the Principal Secretary, Department of Personnel, said that the government examined the matter of posting the candidates recommended by the State Level Recruitment Commission for Class III and Class IV posts in departments, directorates, offices, establishments, etc. “After careful consideration of the pros and cons of the matter and in the interest of public service, the government issued the following guidelines and circulated them for compliance by all concerned,” the office memorandum said.
The guidelines are:
(i) All the female candidates may be posted in their home districts, to the extent possible, feasible, and practicable.
(ii) All the candidates belonging to Barak Valley may be posted in Barak Valley to the extent possible, feasible, and practicable.
(iii) Candidates belonging to the category of PwDs (Persons with Disabilities) may be posted in their home districts to the extent possible, feasible, and practicable.
(iv) The other candidates may also be posted, preferably in their home districts or any nearby districts. If there is no vacancy in their home districts or nearby districts, then their places of posting will be decided through randomization.
(v) In case of any difficulty in following the above guidelines, the departments may bring the matter to the attention of the Chief Minister for any relaxation that may be needed in the particular situation.
