GUWAHATI: LDP president Guno Gogoi has criticized the State government for the corrupt practices going on in the State that has been in double troubles – COVID-19 and floods. Gogoi said that while the State is grappling with the corona scare and the ravaging floods, all kinds of corruption, illicit businesses and syndicates are flourishing unabated. The State is now witnessing large-scale corruption in every aspect, in spite of the ruling party's claim of zero tolerance to corruption, he said. "Although night curfew is in operation in the State, the trading in wood, arecanut, cattle are taking place. Inactivity of the State government and police is encouraging illegal cattle trade with Bangladesh both by roadways and waterways. Similarly, there is an active syndicate running in the State dealing with Meghalaya coal," he said.
