Guwahati: Another incident of water pipe leakage

GUWAHATI: The problems for the Guwahati Jal Board are far from over, as yet another pipeline used by them for supplying water leaked on Saturday, releasing large amounts of drinking water into the streets. This is the latest of the innumerable incidents that have taken place across the city in recent times since the administration began pumping water using the new network. The pipeline leakage took place in the Kamakhya Colony area of Maligaon. Frustrated by the repeated occurrence of such incidents across the city, citizens have demanded that the state administration take concrete steps to prevent such incidents from repeating in the future.

It is important to note that one such incident that took place in the Kharghuli locality of the city led to the death of a woman and severe damage to many residences. Another similar incident took place in the Rajgarh locality, resulting in heavy losses to property as several business establishments were flooded.
