GUWAHATI: On Friday , another water pipeline in Guwahati bursts, this time near Borbari in the Hengerabari neighbourhood. Visuals demonstrate that the water gushing out of the pipe is less dense than it was in the earlier water pipeline burst occurrences. The event was reported close to Borbari's Nabajyoti Club.
Even though the rupture wasn't fatal, its repetition of such incidents highlights how poorly the government has performed in its efforts to prevent similar accidents.
On June 22, a pipeline rupture incident was recorded in the Maligaon neighbourhood of the city.
This incident was reported in the Pandu neighbourhood next to the flyover that is currently being built. According to the images, water could be seen flowing out in a fountain-like fashion up to a few metres. The fourth incident involving a burst water pipe in a 30-day period occurred earlier on June 20 in Guwahati City.
The most recent pipeline rupture on RG Baruah Road, close to Gauhati Commerce College, has once again called into question the upkeep and dependability of the infrastructure. Images of the incident show a sizable amount of water flowing out at a frightening rate.
Initial reports state that the Guwahati Jal Board's recently erected water pipeline at Rajgarh Road near Commerce College Link Road burst. Despite the fact that no injuries or fatalities have been reported, the thousands of rupees worth of property damage has upset the locals.
This event comes after the terrible water pipe rupture in Kharguli on May 25, which resulted in the death of a woman and the injuries of several others. Around 30 residences and numerous vehicles nearby sustained major damage as a result of the intense rushing water from the broken pipe. Sumitra Rabha Das, a local, tragically perished when her home was destroyed by the force of the raging flood. Her two daughters were hurt in the incident as well.
