Guwahati: A beggar on Thursday night was crushed to death by a truck near Sukleshwar Ghat in Guwahati.
The incident took place when a truck carrying goods collided with other truck carrying water and hit railing of the sidewalk resulting in crushing the beggar.
The beggar identified as Rabi Das, who is a resident of Mariani area in Jorhat.
The reports claimed that the truck was over-loaded following which it lost the control and collided with another truck.
Both the driver and handyman of the truck fled from the scene and are absconding.
There was also another beggar who got injured and it believed that he was specially abled.
Later, the injured beggar was sent to hospital for treatment.
