GUWAHATI: An EGPD team of Dispur Police Station arrested 3 thieves - Sahidul Islam of Suparbhitha, Salman Ahmed of Haldobari and Jaharul Islam of Lakhipur.
The police have recovered 8 gold rings, 1 laptop, 4 silver anklets, 1 TV, 1 set-top box, 3 music systems, 1 DVR, 1 console, 2 rods & a screwdriver were seized.
A case has been registered under CN1875/22.
Earlier, the Geetanagar police arrested six members of a gang who used to hire vehicles purchased by others on the EMI system and then sell them in neighbouring States like Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh.
Police sources identified the arrested persons as Debojit Bhattacharjee, Deep Roy, Kishore Kumar Sarma, Rinku Lahkar, Wahid Ali and Nirmal Sarkar.
