In operations, troops of Border Security Force (BSF) under the Guwahati Frontier apprehended three Indian cattle smugglers

GUWAHATI: In operations, troops of Border Security Force (BSF) under Guwahati Frontier apprehended three Indian cattle smugglers and rescued 107 cattle heads from the bordering areas of Coochbehar in West Bengal, Dhubri and South Salamara in Assam on Monday night.

Acting on a tip off, BSF troops under Guwahati Frontier carried out a operation in Nepuralga village under South Salamara and apprehended the three Indian cattle smugglers along with cattle heads, while they were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.

Apprehended cattle smugglers have been identified as - Rafiqul Islam (21), Amildul Sheikh (32), and Shafikul Islam (22). All are residents of Berabanga village under South Salamara.

Apprehended cattle smugglers along with cattle heads have been handed over to Sukhchar Police Station.

Besides above, vigilant Seema Prahari of BSF rescued 107 cattle heads in various other operations from bordering areas of Coochbehar, Dhubri and South Salamara while the same were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh.
