Guwahati: Karishma Kakoti, an Assamese interior designer has made sure that her traits do not stay within the boundary of her state or country. Taking a huge leap into the international realms, Karishma has made sure that her capabilities get recognized and applauded in London while winning the ‘Best Emerging Interior Design Professional of the Year’ at the Global Indian Business Excellence Awards 2019. The award ceremony was held in London, UK on Thursday.
The 27-year-old Guwahati girl happens to be the youngest awardee at the event with massive participation from around 200 people across the world. The much-coveted event was hosted by UK-based media house Asian Voice at the House of Commons and was organized by World Business Review Corporation. The corporation is responsible to recognize and honour the Indian origin achievers from around the world.
The Rajgarh road resident of Guwahati, speaking about her latest feat, says “People [ in Northeast] have a mindset that designers from outside are better.” She, therefore, appreciates events and honours like these which has done much to give recognition to her work and hopes that people will at least start believing in the qualities the local talents have.
Karisha also has a designing studio of her own at the Rajgarh road by the name KA Design which has emerged as a leading luxury interior designing firm of the region.
The list of clients she has served and has been serving are high-end and are in praised of her classy taste. Right from the luxury projects for residential and commercial, she has also marked her presence in the hospitality sectors of the country.
In addition to this international recognition, Karishma also has four national awards in her kitty that she had won in 2018. One of the worth-naming among those is ‘Young Female Entrepreneur of Northeast In Interior Designing’ title that she bagged at the India Leadership Awards 2018 held in Bangalore.
