Guwahati: GMC Conducts Inspection Drive In Uzanbazar, Collects Rs 10,000 As Penalty

Guwahati: Guwahati Municipal Corporation's (GMC) Health and Enforcement branch on Tuesday conducted a drive in the Uzanbazar area of the city.

During the drive, a total of 5 (five) business establishments were inspected, including the Fast Food Stall, Sweet Shop, Juice Counter, Restaurant, and Ice cream parlor, of which 1 (one) trade was found to be operating without a trade license.

Following this, officials concerned served notices and also imposed fines under the terms of the GMC Act for violations of specific rules and regulations.

The Health and Enforcement branch, also seized plastic stools, cooking equipment, etc of Hangout fast food stall (Uzanbazar) that was expanding business over the footpath obstructing public transportation.

Apart from these, JB's restaurant (Uzanbazar) was also served notice for unsafe installation of overhead water tank encroaching footpath and endangering public safety.

During the drive, a total of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) was collected as a penalty.
