Guwahati: Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship celebrates World Youth Skills Day

Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, an organization under the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, celebrated "WORLD YOUTH SKILLS DAY" at its campus.

Guwahati: Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), an organization under the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, celebrated "WORLD YOUTH SKILLS DAY" at its campus today.

Shiladitya Sarkar, NSDC State Engagement Officer, graced the occasion as the chief guest, and Pinaki Shankar Deb, Regional Manager, Construction Development Council of India, was the guest of honour.

The IIE organized activities like skill exhibitions, skill sambad and skill workshops to celebrate the event. The theme of this year is "Learning and Skills for Life, Work, and Sustainable Development".

The United Nations General Assembly commemorates July 15 every year as World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) to generate greater awareness of the prominence of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and the development of marketable skills, relevant to both local and global economies. The day also marked the launch of the National Skill Development Mission (NSDM) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi,a press release said.
