GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) conducted an eviction drive at Kamakhya Gate on Sunday. The drive was against the illegal encroachment of shops on the footpaths. The GMC councillors had requested that the public and shopkeepers take seriously the responsibility of keeping public sector roads, footpaths, etc., clean and tidy like their own homes.
