Guwahati Municipal Corporation, Itanagar Municipal Corporation hold Interactive Session

The Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Director, Commissioner, Councillors, Executive Engineers and OSD to the Mayor of the IMC visited the office of the GMC

GUWAHATI: The Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Director, Commissioner, Councillors, Executive Engineers and OSD to the Mayor of the Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) visited the office of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) at Uzanbazar here on Thursday and an interactive session was held between the members of both the civic bodies.

Dr Lakshmanan S, CEO of Guwahati Smart City Limited, also joined the event. The Commissioner of the GMC welcomed and felicitated all the members of the IMC.

A detailed Power Point Presentation (PPT) on functioning of the GMC was presented to the IMC members with a view to giving a brief insight. Another presentation on 'Jurisdiction demarcation between Municipal Corporation and District Collector/Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner Police/Superintendent of Police' was presented by the OSD, GMC. Online property tax and assessment process of the GMC and ARTPS Act were also demonstrated on the occasion.

During the interactive session on the deployment of GIS based survey, several issues were highlighted and both the municipal corporations agreed to work together for mutual benefit. Such exchange programmes would help build co-operation and mutual development, officials later said.

A Correspondent adds from Itanagar: The IMC team led by Mayor Tame Phassang also visited various project sites of the GMC to get the first-hand information.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor expressed his gratitude to the officials of the GMC for successfully coordinating the meeting and sharing information on the developmental structures of the GMC.

"I believe that today's meeting will be fruitful for our members. IMC is still very new and we have to learn many more things so that we can confer the best service to the people of our State," stated the Mayor.
