GUWAHATI: Continuing its strict action against the violators of hygiene norms in the city, the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) sealed a manufacturer of sweets on Saturday in the Rehabari area.
People in the locality had mentioned the improper disposal of garbage by the owners of this factory, forcing the municipal corporation to take adequate steps in that direction. As the people present were not able to produce any trade licence or fire safety certificate at the time of the inspection, the GMC officials sealed the premises and summoned the owner of the factory. They also confiscated some of the equipment they used.
