Guwahati: At least seven people, including two children, were injured in the fire which broke out in the city's Rehabari area here on Saturday.
According to reports, it is being said that due to a cylinder explosion, the fire broke out.
Upon receiving the information of the same, the fire tenders were rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations which are still underway.
Meanwhile, the injured persons were rushed to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where they are under treatment.
The injured persons have been identified as Soma Das (53), Shankar Mallick (56), Mukul Moni Das (54), Sanjay Kar (46), Manjit Kar (10), Amarjeet Das (15), and Sanjay Malakar (43).
Reportedly, the two children named Manjit Kar and Amarjeet Das received maximum burn injuries with Kar sustaining 65-70 percent mixed flame burns and Das receiving 70-75 percent mixed flame burns.
