Guwahati: Personal Security Officer Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta commits suicide in Geetanagar

Guwahati: In a sensational incident, according to sources a Personal Security Officer (PSO) of Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, former Director General of Police (Assam) allegedly shot himself in Geetanagar leading to his death. The victim was identified as Adhir Barman and the incident took place on Sunday night. He had reportedly joined his duties on Saturday after a month-long leave at home. He had been serving as the PSO in charge of Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta for a long time but news was circulated that Barman would soon be transferred to Mankachar. He was also suffering from some health-related ailments.
