Guwahati Police Arrest Three Thieves From Hajo

Acting on a case (168/23 under Section 379 IPC), Guwahati Police was able to apprehend three people from different locations under the Hajo Police Station.

GUWAHATI: Acting on a case (168/23 under Section 379 IPC), Guwahati Police was able to apprehend three people from different locations under the Hajo Police Station.

The case was based on a complaint lodged regarding the theft of items from commercial goods carriers during their transit from the railway station to their destinations. The involvement of a well-organized gang was suspected in the matter. The thieves used to follow the vehicles on different vehicles, including two-wheelers, and lift items off the back of the vehicle as the driver or anyone else could not see what was going on in the rear of the vehicle.

After examining the CCTV footage, they found that a person with a yellow two-wheeler was stealing packages. Based on this information, the police apprehended the prime accused, Md. Ismile Ali alias Boga, aged 26 years and son of Md. Gulam Hussian of Fakirtola in Haji. The red T-shirt that was worn during the robbery was also recovered, along with the yellow two-wheeler bearing registration number AS 25 S 3606. He named one more person as a co-accused of this crime. He is Md. Laskar Ali, aged 32, son of Late Munnaf Ali of Borijan in Hajo. He was also apprehended by the police.

Some suspected stolen articles were also recovered from his house, including 12 helmets and four LG TVs. Another co-accused, Md. Afzal Ali, aged 29 years and son of Md. Ajir Rahman of Rowmari Suwalkuchi, was apprehended from his residence based on their confessions.
